I went to the library recently and found a great book that I would like to share a bit about. It is called Creative Correspondence by Michael and Judy Jacobs. This book is published by North Light Books and was printed in 2003.
Here are some samples I made using their directions and ideas. I cannot give out directions here obviously, but I did ask permission to do this much, so you can get a taste of what is in the book. Enjoy!
Creative Correspondence Book Review By Sharon 'Harry' Solly
As it says on the cover, it contains 20 unique cards and envelope projects. Unique is right! The ideas these folks have for envelopes and letters are absolutely perfect for rubber stampers of all levels.
This book is geared towards crafters of all levels. It has sections on tools to use, postal regulations, what kinds of papers work best and even some how-tos on making your own decorative papers! So a beginner can pick this up and be able to create what they are shown.
There are other sections that contain assorted ideas that all progress from the basic structure to a bit more fussy version of the same idea. They have very good pictures with full directions for each project and little blurbs to help you make the ideas your own. These folks seem to really like re-using things (a.k.a. altered thingies!), which makes creating some of these ideas lots of fun. The main thing they are trying to say it seems is to write someone you love. Now. Do it today. Use whatever you can, make it pretty even, and write them. I think we all have gotten very slack with the written correspondence nowadays with the rising of emails and instant messaging. This is something we should all try to do more often. So go get this book and get some fun ideas for writing to that loved one.
